Maria Tal Cottages are Houses of Hospitality and Places of Creative Refreshment conducted by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan for all those who love and respect Nature. Their situation on the edge of the National Park and overlooking the Valley of the Waters or the Escarpment to Wentworth Falls makes them also an inspiring venue for the courses in Creation Spirituality which are sometimes taught here.
Monthly Cosmology Mornings
Every third Friday from 10 a.m. till noon a Cosmology Morning is held at Valley Pines, the Sisters' residential house at Maria Tal. We are studying. The Great Task by Thomas Berry and each session includes an appropriate meditation e.g. The Riches of Winter in our Lives and some silent reflection time amidst the beauties of Nature.
There are three houses for guests, Maria Tal, Maria Kinder with a hall nearby and The Barn. They are homely and comfortable with all facilities for self-catering. Guests are asked to bring their own food, sheets, towels and pillow case. Maria Tal accommodates up to twenty people, Maria Kinder up to fourteen, and The Barn up to four.
For the comfort of all guests, pets are not allowed and the houses are non-smoking areas. There are heaters in all houses. Maria Tal and Maria Kinder have open fire places for those who wish to bring firewood.
The grounds of Maria Tal and The Barn include lawns, gardens and regeneration areas. They overlook the Valley of the Waters and have two small huts for guests to sit and ponder amidst the beauty of creation.
It is hoped that our guests at Maria Tal Cottages will enjoy themselves as they revel in beauty and become more in harmony with Nature, leading them to realise and appreciate their interconnectivity with the whole of creation.
