Application for access form to be completed at least one days advance notice of visit required.

Acquisition Focus:
The Good Samaritan Archives contains the records generated by the administrative body of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan and institutions (schools, orphanages, homes for the aged and disadvantaged, womens refuges) for which the Sisters were/are responsible in Australia, in Post World War II Japan, in Kiribati and the Philippines.

Conditions of Access to Archives

  1. That all research on records held in the Good Samaritan Archives be carried out under the direct control and supervision of the Archivist.
  2. That records made available for research will not be interfered with in any way or have notes made on them.
  3. That no reproductions or photographic copies be made without specific permission being given. The written permission of the Archivist must be obtained before any reproductions are given away or sold. Any copying will be subject to the physical condition of the record.
  4. That no publication of the Good Samaritan Archives, or extracts therefrom, shall be undertaken without the written permission of the Archivist. Approved publication of material in the Good Samaritan Archives must acknowledge the Archives as the source of any quotations or extracts.

(a) The archivist will determine charges to be made for photocopying and postage.
(b) An hourly fee may be charged for the time taken by the Archivist in recovering records and bringing them to the researcher or for time taken in research.
