Good Samaritan Arts

The love of beauty and promotion of the arts hold a special place in the Benedictine tradition.

Since their beginning in 1857, many Good Samaritan Sisters have excelled in various forms of art.

Initially they concentrated on delicate needlework, calligraphy and painting.

Today Good Sam artists produce fine art in many media – pottery, leather work, folk art, silk scarves, photography, candles, cards, paintings, sculpture and wood carving.
