The Good Samaritan Inn

The Good Samaritan Inn in Melbourne is a crisis accommodation for homeless women and children, many of whom are escaping domestic violence.

The staff and their large band of volunteers provide the ordinary basic needs that so many of us take for granted – shelter, safety, a meal, and most importantly a listening ear.

Good Samaritan Inn responds to the critical shortage of emergency accommodation.

In providing a short term home for women and children, we work with energy and adaptability to make this home safe, warm and practical.

Eight ways you can help The Inn

• The Inn’s dinner dance has become an annual affair. Bring your friends along to a fun-filled evening.
• Have your own fund-raising activity and send the proceeds to the Inn.
• The Inn produces lovely gifts packs for all occasions – birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day or just to tell someone you love them. Gift packs range in cost from $15 – $100. You receive a tax receipt, a gift card, and the knowledge that you are helping the homeless at the same time.
• Become a regular donor. All money over $2 is tax deductable.
• Get your workplace involved. Perhaps you might run a working bee, have a special morning tea and invite us to speak to raise awareness and also to raise funds. We can arrange donations via salary deductions.
• Any business associates you know can sign up to be a Friend of the Inn. Become a Silver Friend for $5,000 or a Gold Friend for $10,000 annually for three, four or five years.
• Work on a sub-committee for 6-12 months and share your expertise in marketing, fund-raising, legal advice, research or IT.
• Donate to the Good Samaritan Foundation
