What happens when your home is the street?

For the past 16 years Good Samaritan Sister, Anne Dixon, has been a member of Rosies (http://rosiesvic.oblates.com.au). These Friends on the Street spend Wednesday and Friday nights around Flinders Street Station in the heart of Melbourne, chatting to anyone around – the homeless, those drugged or drunk, the mentally ill, ex-prisoners, the young and the old. Anne and her co-workers form a closely bonded community by sharing a cuppa and a caring word.  Through her work with people on the street, Anne is living out Jesus’ invitation and command to go and be a neighbour to those in need. She often finds that she is the one who accepts the neighbourly helping hand from those on the street.
