The Sisters of The Good Samaritan - Protection of Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults

The first five women

Five women came together on February 2, 1857 as Sisters of the Good Samaritan, the first congregation of religious women founded in Australia.

They came from a variety of backgrounds with a common purpose to live a way of life, a Benedictine way of life, that would sustain them in their ministry of being neighbour with the compassion of Christ.

Mother Scholastica Gibbons RSC guided them in this journey of seeking God and being neighbour.
