Exploring religious life during National Vocations Awareness Week

“Each of you has a personal vocation which He has given you for your own joy and sanctity. When a person is conquered by the fire of His gaze, no sacrifice seems too great to follow Him and give Him the best of ourselves. This is what the saints have always done, spreading the light of the Lord … and transforming the world into a welcoming home for everyone.”
– Pope Benedict XVI

This week National Vocations Awareness Week has been celebrated across Australia, from August 4 to August 11, 2019.

Women and men across Australia are encouraged to take the time to self enquire, reflect and pray on their future vocation, their life path, their calling.

As part of this discerning, four Good Samaritan Sisters have shared their personal stories about their call to consecrated religious life and their advice on following the path to this wonderful vocation.

Their stories highlight Benedictine spirituality and the importance of listening to the inner call.

Gratitude is extended to Sarah Puls SGS, Kakare Biita SGS, Margaret Ann Kelly SGS and Leonie Duenas SGS for sharing their wisdom.
